greece (day 11) - the return
this is the last blog post from my greece trip, but i am planning on making one more post with stats and maps and other fun things to wrap up the trip!
it was a quiet sunny morning. i had to leave the hotel real early to catch my flight at 10:00 (i didn’t want to take any chances).
fortunately, the lines weren’t too bad and i was able to comfortably make it to my gate and have a cup of coffee.
after making it back to the istanbul airport, i had about two hours to kill. i ordered a doner wrap and a mystery turkish soda (it tasted like a ramune?):
and for dessert, i got a turkish coffee, baklava, and complimentary turkish delight:
all of the food in the istanbul airport is ridiculously expensive. my sandwich and soda was $24, my coffee and small baklava were $12, and my mcdonalds double kofta burger and shake from last time were $22 (i didn’t know this until checking after the fact; everything is in turkish lira). at least it tasted good.
on my flight back to seattle, i was served a sort of kofta meatball with rice, cooked tomato, hummus, salad, and pudding:
honestly the turkish airlines food is surprisingly good. 7/10 would recommend.
finally i got back to seattle, took the train home, and fell asleep.
bonus photo of graffiti i saw everywhere in athens:
